Feeding:
Leptobotia pellegrini are carnivorous. The Chinese Loach accepts live or prepared foods. In the wild they are a benthic hunter, mostly feeding on crustaceans and small fish. In an aquarium Leptobotia pellegrini can be offered bloodworms, tubifex worms, chopped shellfish, and good quality sinking dried foods

Tank:
They Chinese Loach (Leptobotia pellegrini) inhabit flowing streams. The aquarium should be set up to mirror the flowing rivers they abide in naturally. Consider variably sized rocks and gravel. There should be plenty of cover on the bottom for Leptobotia pellegrini to hide; as well as, a decent level of water movement, such as powerheads. Most importantly is the water condition: ideal water parameters are best. They are not aggressive toward most fish. Take care in choosing tank mates, as Leptobotia pellegrini is not very aggressive, so it should be kept with other calm species.

Breeding:
Leptobotia pellegrini has not been successfully bred in the home aquarium. There are no distinctive features between male and female.
